Tapni
B2B-strong provider with Frankfurt hosting and a broad enterprise feature set – but company headquarters and development are located outside Germany
Tapni is among the B2B-oriented providers in our comparison and achieves an overall score of 82 – 4th place. The company, founded in 2021, is operated by Tapni GmbH, headquartered in Vienna, while development and operations sit with Tapni d.o.o. in Novi Sad (Serbia).
Unlike pure single-user solutions, Tapni brings a mature team product: a dedicated admin console at business.tapni.com, central employee provisioning and connectivity to common identity and CRM systems. The score is composed of strong individual values for feature scope (88) and user reviews (90) as well as solid values for GDPR (84), team admin (82) and price-performance (80); the support-language value (70) comes out lower.
Anyone looking for a solution with genuine team management and accepting the non-German headquarters will find in Tapni a serious candidate.
Strengths
- Genuine B2B/teams offering with a central admin console (business.tapni.com), bulk provisioning via CSV/Google Sheets and directory sync (Microsoft Entra ID/Azure, Okta, Google Workspace, Slack) – the basis for the team admin score of 82.
- GDPR-friendly data storage: all customer data on AWS in Frankfurt (EEA), data processing agreement (DPA) under Art. 28 GDPR available, appointed data protection officer (dpo@tapni.com) and referenced ISO 27001 conformity – decisive for the GDPR score of 84.
- Broad enterprise feature set with SAML SSO (incl. RBAC and just-in-time provisioning), public REST API (X-API-Key) and 16 integrations including seven CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho, Dynamics 365, Attio, Odoo) – the basis for the top value in feature scope (88).
- Complete capture and wallet functions: NFC card incl. shipping, QR code, Apple and Google Wallet, AI-assisted paper business card scanner as well as lead capture forms with automated follow-ups.
- Email signature management via the MailSign add-on with Office 365/Outlook integration and QR tracking, plus very good user response (Trustpilot 4.6/5 from around 750+ reviews) – the basis for the review score of 90.
Weaknesses
- Not a provider from Germany and not a German hosting company: headquarters in Vienna, development in Novi Sad (Serbia), hosting via the US cloud AWS – albeit with a data center in Frankfurt/EEA. For strict sovereignty requirements this can be a disqualifying criterion.
- SCIM provisioning and OIDC are not substantiated (only SAML SSO is documented), and MDM support is likewise not substantiable – this pushes the enterprise integration score down to 78.
- Prices are shown exclusively in USD, there is no permanent free tier (only a short trial period) and a uniform, annually billed pricing model without a flexible monthly business tier – the reason for the mid-range price-performance score of 80.
- German-language support and concrete SLA commitments are not substantiated; a SOC 2 certification is also not mentioned – this explains the comparatively low support-language score of 70.
Data protection & server location
On data protection, Tapni achieves 84 points – a solid value carried by its data storage. According to the privacy policy, all customer data is hosted, processed and stored on Amazon Web Services with a hosting location in Frankfurt; edge delivery via Vercel takes place exclusively within the EEA (Frankfurt region).
Tapni provides a data processing agreement (DPA) under Art. 28 GDPR, appoints a data protection officer (dpo@tapni.com) and references ISO 27001 conformity with certificates available on the website. The decisive caveat from a German B2B perspective: AWS is a US cloud provider, not a German hosting company – the data center is indeed located in Germany/EEA, but the operator is subject to US law.
In addition, Tapni itself is not a German company (Vienna/Novi Sad). A SOC 2 certification is not mentioned. As sub-processors, the policy names, among others, Shopify, HubSpot (EU servers), Sendcloud, Hotjar and Littledata.
For most GDPR requirements the constellation is viable; anyone demanding genuine data sovereignty with a purely German provider and hosting company must weigh things up.
Enterprise readiness & integration
The B2B core is Tapni's strength and is reflected in the scores for team admin (82), enterprise integration (78) and feature scope (88). Through the admin console business.tapni.com, employee profiles can be rolled out via CSV or Google Sheets and synchronized via directory sync with Microsoft Entra ID/Azure, Okta, Google Workspace and Slack.
There are roles and permissions (RBAC), team templates as well as SAML SSO with just-in-time provisioning and Microsoft Entra ID connectivity. On the integration side, 16 connections are available, including seven CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Attio, Odoo) as well as a public REST API with API key authentication.
Honestly named among the limitations: SCIM provisioning and OIDC are not documented (only SAML is substantiated), and MDM support for rollout on company devices is not substantiable. This explains why enterprise integration, at 78, is slightly below the other B2B values – for most sales and GTM teams the feature scope is nonetheless clearly sufficient.

Tapni FAQ
Where is Tapni's data hosted and is the provider GDPR-compliant?
According to the privacy policy, all customer data is hosted, processed and stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) with a hosting location in Frankfurt; edge delivery via Vercel remains within the EEA. Tapni provides a data processing agreement (DPA) under Art. 28 GDPR, appoints a data protection officer (dpo@tapni.com) and references ISO 27001 conformity.
Note: AWS is a US cloud provider (not a German hosting company), and Tapni GmbH is based in Vienna with development in Novi Sad/Serbia. A SOC 2 certification is not mentioned. For most GDPR requirements the setup is suitable (GDPR score 84); for strict sovereignty requirements the non-German ownership must be weighed up.
Is Tapni suitable for use in teams and enterprises?
Yes. With 'Tapni for Business', Tapni offers a central admin console (business.tapni.com), bulk provisioning via CSV/Google Sheets and directory sync with Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace and Slack.
Added to this are roles and permissions (RBAC), SAML SSO with just-in-time provisioning, a public REST API and 16 integrations including seven CRMs. Not substantiated, however, are SCIM provisioning, OIDC and MDM. The team admin score is 82, enterprise integration is 78.
What does Tapni cost and is there a free plan?
Tapni uses a uniform pricing model: paid per user per year with volume discounts – 20% from 11 users and 40% from 31 users; from 50 users there is a custom offer. The standard plan includes an NFC card incl. shipping, CRM export, team templates, analytics and priority support.
Optionally, the MailSign PRO signature add-on costs extra per user/year. There is no permanent free tier (only a short trial period), and prices are shown exclusively in USD; billing is annual.
Does Tapni offer German-language support?
This is not substantiated. Documented are support via email (including support/sales@tapni.com), a chat/chatbot via HubSpot as well as priority support included in the plan. Whether this support is offered in German and whether there are concrete SLA commitments is not evident from the available sources – this explains the support-language score of 70.
