beCard

Austrian SME all-rounder with Munich hosting, a genuine team offering, and an affordable entry point

  • HQGraz (Behires Digital GmbH) and Vienna (Behires Services GmbH), Austria
  • Founded2016
  • Target audienceFreelancers, small and medium-sized enterprises, and specialist departments in the German-speaking region that want to manage employee business cards centrally and brand them consistently, while valuing GDPR proximity (Munich hosting, ISO 27001), affordable pricing, and German-language support

Strengths

  • Data hosting in a data center in Munich (DE) with a stated ISO 27001 certification and EU data protection alignment - a relevant GDPR advantage for the German-speaking market (GDPR score 78)
  • Genuine team/enterprise offering ('Spaces'/Business Manager) with central administration, role assignment, consistent branding, statistics, and an unlimited number of centrally managed cards (Team/Admin score 80)
  • Broad feature set including NFC cards, QR, Apple/Google Wallet, email signatures, paper business card scanner (OCR), lead capture, and a REST API (feature set score 90)
  • Affordable entry point with a permanently free Free tier and a paid Business Pro plan including the option to hide the beCard logo at login (price-performance score 78)
  • German-language provider with German-language support via email and phone (support score 82)

Weaknesses

  • No documented enterprise identity features: SSO (SAML/OIDC), SCIM provisioning, MDM, and Entra ID integration are not verified - a limitation for larger IT organizations (enterprise integration score 42)
  • Pricing for the team/enterprise offering is not public and available only on request - makes comparability and procurement more difficult
  • Only a few integrations documented (essentially Mailchimp and Zapier); deep CRM integrations (Salesforce, HubSpot) as well as white-label, custom domain, and custom CSS not confirmed
  • Thin independent review base (Trustpilot ~4.0 with only around 12 reviews, no reliable G2/Capterra ratings) - low market validation (user reviews score 66)

beCard FAQ

Where is beCard's data stored, and can the solution be used in a GDPR-compliant way?

According to the provider, all collected data is hosted in a data center in Munich (Germany); beCard also states an ISO 27001 certification and compliance with strict EU data protection requirements. Data processing therefore takes place within the EU.

It should be noted that the controllers (Behires Digital GmbH in Graz and Behires Services GmbH in Vienna) are based in Austria, and that the availability of a data processing agreement (DPA) under Art. 28 GDPR as well as a SOC 2 certification are not confirmed. Companies with elevated compliance requirements should request the DPA directly from the provider before entering into a contract.

In our assessment, beCard achieves 78 out of 100 points in the GDPR area.

Is beCard suitable for larger companies with central IT?

beCard is well suited to teams and SMEs: the 'Spaces' or 'Business Manager' offering provides central administration, role assignment, consistent branding, and bulk provisioning (Team/Admin score 80). For large IT organizations with a mandatory need for enterprise identity, however, there are limitations: SSO (SAML/OIDC), SCIM provisioning, MDM, and Entra ID integration are not documented.

As a result, the enterprise integration category stands at only 42 out of 100 points. Companies that need automated user provisioning via their identity system should clarify these points with the provider in advance.

What does beCard cost, and is all pricing transparent?

The Free tier is permanently free (one digital card). The Business Pro plan is paid per user per month with annual billing (a higher monthly rate, plus VAT) and includes up to ten cards. This makes the entry point affordable (price-performance 78).

The individual prices are transparently stated; however, for the actual team and enterprise offering (Spaces/Business Manager) the provider does not name any public fixed prices but instead calculates individually on request. A higher figure from an older third-party source is no longer current.

Which features and integrations does beCard offer?

beCard covers a broad feature set (feature set score 90): NFC cards, QR codes, Apple and Google Wallet, email signature management, lead capture, a paper business card scanner with OCR, analytics, custom branding, and a REST API. In terms of third-party integrations, by contrast, the offering is modest: essentially Mailchimp and Zapier are documented.

Deep CRM integrations such as Salesforce or HubSpot as well as white-label, custom domain, and custom CSS could not be confirmed. For many standard workflows the Zapier integration is sufficient; those who need native CRM integrations should specifically check their availability.
